Network Rail - Vegetation removal works - Clay Cross to Chesterfield
Network Rail are currently undertaking work to remove or reduce trees and vegetation that could disrupt operations along the railway route between Clay Cross and Chesterfield.
Most of this work will be carried out during the day, but due to the proximity to passing trains and for safety reasons, some of this work will need to be carried out during the night, when trains are not in operation.
They will be clearing all vegetation within 6.5 meters (21 feet) of the tracks and pruning or removing trees beyond this point using tools such as chainsaws, chipping machines, hand tools and Road Rail support machines, but will work to minimise noise as much as possible. They will operate a moving worksite so any disruption near local properties will be temporary.
