Cllr Andy Rouse
Clay Cross Parish Council
"Hi everyone,
I'm Andy Rouse, a family man with 2 kids, 2 grandchildren and my family is the single most important thing in my life. I'm a lifelong resident of our town and I've been an integral part of this community for many years, both living and working in the area. I've worked as a firefighter at Clay Cross Fire station for more than 31 years and had the pleasure of managing this extremely effective station as the Watch Manager before my retirement. I still work but I now travel to Burton on Trent where I work for one of the UK's largest breweries which produces the UK's No. 1 beer brand, Carling.
Clay Cross has been home my entire life, and I joined the Parish team to focus specifically on supporting our community to make this town a great place to live, shop and work. I would love to see us restore some of the great traditions and values and I want us to have great standards, feel safe in the community, have respect for each other, open spaces we can be proud of and be part of a Parish Council that works hard to support everyone's efforts to achieve this.
Whether you live here, work here, have a business here or just visit, I want to make sure your experience in this town is the best it can be. A great sense of community and belonging are values I treasure.
I'm also a Governor at Tupton Hall School and I'm involved in a number of other local community projects but as Clay Cross transforms itself through projects like the town deal and other initiatives, I feel as though I have the right knowledge, skills and experience to guide and support this community in its longer-term plan to become a town of choice for many people.
Andy"
