The first bi-annual Clay Cross Gala was held in 2011. They have historically taken place on Sharley Park and Kenning Park.

In 2023 the decision was taken to move the Gala to Clay Cross Social Centre after being advised that the ground at Kenning Park was wet through due to persistent poor weather conditions. This decision was supported by the local community and the event was well attended. Due to the success of the 2023 event, the Parish Council have again decided to continue with this format going forward.
